- No spectators other than family members
- May extend to Colleges
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced issuing an order that all sports may go forward this fall in high school from August 21, 2020.
“We will be issuing an order that all sports may go forward this fall. It will be available online at http://coronavirus.ohio.gov soon,” said Governor Mike DeWine.
“Additionally, there will be no spectators other than family members or individuals very close to the student athletes.”
He said cautiously that, “we are going to know how this goes. If it is not going to work, schools will be informed very quickly. There is hope and it will be over.”
Governor DeWine said that, “these rules are for high schools, but this will apply to colleges as well. It is a moving target.”
On performing arts in high school, Governor DeWine said, “we will have orders this week addressing performing art. We are working with the scientists on that. We don’t mean to leave the performing art behind. We have something next couple of days.”
