The Columbus Metropolitan Library, Ohio Dublin City Library branch will host the 2023 New Americans Book Fair on Saturday, September 23, 2023. The biggest diasporan annual book fair was held last year at the Karl Road branch, Columbus on October 8, 2022.
The news of the approval was broken by the Dublin branch manager, Joe Yersavich and the supervisor Hannah Burkhard to the duo of Deba Uwadiae, Publisher of New Americans magazine, the organizers of the annual book fair and Imran Malik, a member of the organizing committee on Wednesday, March 8.
“Joe and I are excited to share that we received the go-ahead to move forward with the Book Fair here at the Dublin Branch!” according to the official message.
The New Americans Book Fair began in 2022 to promote and create collaborative platforms among authors, writers, agents, artists, movie producers, printers, and publishers in the new American, immigrant, refugee community, with others in America and the global literary space.
The organizers, New Americans magazine and the New American Community Information Center partnered with the Columbus Metropolitan Library to hold the inaugural book fair at the Karl Road branch last year.
“We are excited that the Dublin City branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library will be hosting the 2023 New Americans Book Fair,” said Deba Uwadiae, Publisher of New Americans Magazine.
“Dublin City is a great choice to host the 2023 New Americans Bok Fair because of the uniqueness in hosting global events such as the annual Dublin Irish Festival and the annual Golf Memorial Tournament.”
In February, Deba Uwadiae addressed the Dublin Diversity Commission on the plans, preparations, and possibilities of having the 2023 Book Fair held in Dublin City.
